Spencer Stone, seen here receiving the Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur from French President Francois Hollande.
Last night, Spencer Stone, one of the three American heroes who prevented a bloodbath on a French Train in August, and was awarded a knighthood by France for his valor, was repeatedly stabbed, in what is described as a random attack at a bar in Sacramento, CA.
He is hospitalized, and the LA Times now reports that he is in stable condition.
Curiously, his comrade in the French train heroism, Alek Skarlatos, narrowly avoided the bloodbath at Umpqua Community College last week. Owing to his celebrity from the French train incident, Skarlatos was quickly recruited to be a cast member of Dancing With The Stars, and thus was filming in Los Angeles when the shooting in Oregon occurred. (Skarlatos suspended his studies until next semester in order to do the TV show).
It’s hard out there for a hero.
